MAGNA STEYR has remarkably reached and established its position as a leading auto-maker and contractor during the last years. In 2003 MAGNA STEYR Graz succeeded in fulfilling all requirements for doubling its production capacities from 90.000 (2002) to more than 200.000 cars per annum. Recently, MAGNA STEYR manages the start of production of three car series for three different contracting partners: the Mercedes-Benz E-Class (4MATICA), the Saab 9-3 Cabrio, and the BMW X3. This rapid growth requires further optimization of the purchasing process.

Magna Steyr acquires 100 Software licences - "Beschaffung Aktuell" The Magna Steyr AG automotive engineering, order developer and –producer of automobiles, acquired 100 licenses for the Enterprise Sourcing Software R5 of the Trade2B.com AG, Munich. After the implementation of the software the purchasing department of Magna Steyr automotive engineering will electronically perform requests for information, requests for quotation and auctions.

In the year 2003 all requirements were fulfilled for a doubling of the production from 90,000 cars (2002) per year by now to 200,000 cars per year in future. Because of this rapid growth the purchasing processes had to be ameliorated. In addition, it was of importance to master three launches of series production of three different car types for three different clients: Mercedes Benz E-Class or rather E-Class 4MATIC, the Saab 9-3 cabriolet and the BMW X3.
Trade2B and the Enterprise Sourcing Software R5 turned out to be the ultimate partner for the planned eSourcing-activities of Magna Steyr after an almost one-year phase of pilot and evaluation.
