How not only large companies can gain competitive advantages with eSourcing.
Small and medium sized companies are still hesitating to use eSourcing tools. Too expensive, too costly, too complicated. Not anymore. Due to new, innovative solutions such as the MATRIX from Trade2B, anyone can extend their competitive advantages with the purchasing department.
For many Companies, not just small sized ones, eSourcing and global sourcing definitely are topics in discussion, nevertheless they hesitate implementing these strategies. Pretexts such as “we do not have the purchasing volume to make electronic purchasing profitable” and “we can get the special products in demand only from this one supplier” mask the uncertainty in deciding for an eSourcing solution. Understandingly many alienate from the highly comprehensive project to implement such a solution for strategic purchasing. A great time- and work-input and complex training add to the mostly high license costs. And then there stays the question if one will profit from such a project at all.
A simple, quickly applicable and comprehensive solution, which does not devour large budgets is asked for. If the first application generated time and cost savings, more companies would settle for such a support in purchasing.
Exactly these requirements are met by the MATRIX of the Trade2B R5 sourcing solution. It enables buyers to do requests for proposals and start auctions without tedious implementation and training. Simple Excel tables are being imported into the sourcing tool, the same as uploading files in the internet. Predefined formulas and field definitions are being accepted, just as the price (e.g. in Euro) which the supplier then has to fill in. The various Excel sheets can be categorized into different hierarchical levels, which then show the different product specifications. For the respective project you can define the components in a more or less detailed way, and so, for example, make the logistic costs and the unit costs for an element comparable. Thereby it is possible to electronically send out requests for even very complex and specific goods. The quotations of the suppliers will be comparable due to the obliging guidelines of the system. No supplier can change or alter fields or specifications in any way.
Thus, the MATRIX combines the advantages of easy to use Excel with the advantages of a sourcing system, that offers write protection, auditing acceptability and individually definable viewing rights. The suppliers can only view their own information or which is specifically meant for them. Depending on the project, it can also be defined how the suppliers receive information about their competitive position. For example, one can only see whether he is the price leader or not, or see the exact position within the field of all suppliers. Buyers can view the various sourcing actions via descriptive graphics and retrieve different analyses at any time. In order to use the software, suppliers and buyers simply have to log in via the Internet. Since it is a web based application, the sourcing actions such as requests, proposals and auctions are possible world wide and therefore build the basis for global sourcing and for realising greater cost savings.
The leasing model of Trade2B is especially for small and medium sized companies of convenience. No investment into additional hardware or software, no costly maintenance, no responsibility for downtime. Trade2B handles the permanent availability of the software and supports the usage of it.
