Renault Industrial Vehicles asked SynerDeal to negotiate and organize a reverse auction for a Call for Tenders of moulded and machined cast iron parts worth 8 M€. This mission resulted in 14.5% of savings and an overhaul of the Renault V.I. supplier base.

Ms Ribailler, Buyer at Renault V.I., found SynerDeal "capable technical spokespersons for this product. We spoke the same language and were able to work in close collaboration to achieve these results".

Perfect command of the product, market knowledge and rigorous project management were the key success factors in the project.

"We wish to apply this kind of online negotiation in our relations with all our suppliers. This Internet experience, led by SynerDeal was very positive" added Mr Déaux, Project Manager at Renault V.I.

Of the 3 auctioned lots, 2 were won by suppliers introduced by SynerDeal.

SynerDeal initiated a joint bid between 2 complementary suppliers (Chambon SA, manufacturer of Renault V.I., and Betsaïde, a new foundry contacted by SynerDeal). "This joint-bid allowed us to propose to Renault V.I. a competitive offer that on our own we could not make. We are very satisfied by the mediatory role SynerDeal has played."

The lot configuration strategy was developed from a practical knowledge of the market : suppliers know-how and their production capacity have been taken into account. Each offer was then equalised using an objective criteria which was communicated to all suppliers.

Of 140 contacted suppliers, 16 participated in the online negotiation, achieving a 14.5% saving.
